A Long Island pizzeria is turning heads this Thanksgiving with a unique pizza creation that blends traditional holiday flavors into a savory pie.
Pino’s Pizza in Deer Park is serving up its “Thanksgiving Specialty Pie,” which includes turkey gravy, roasted turkey breast, apple sausage stuffing, and cranberry sauce made with dry figs, dates, and pears. All of this is piled on a pizza crust and topped with mozzarella cheese.
Owner Pino Barbieri shared the creation on Instagram, and it quickly went viral, with many praising the innovative twist on a Thanksgiving meal.
“Now this is a Thanksgiving meal,” Barbieri wrote in his post, which generated an outpouring of positive feedback.
“It’s so good and the crust is perfect. Doesn’t get soggy with all the delicious toppings,” one customer commented.
“We got this last night for dinner. It was amazing!!! The stuffing was so good, too,” another customer added.
Despite the overwhelming praise, not everyone is sold on the idea. Some users expressed doubt, with one commenting, “Not sure how I feel about this.”
Another lightheartedly remarked, “Legit looks incredible, but it’s missing green bean casserole.”
One user offered a playful counterpoint: “A lot of haters in here who will do the same thing later this month and call it a ‘turkey sandwich.’”
