A well-known Italian pizza chain, Fradiavolo, has opened its first U.S. location in Wynwood, Miami, bringing a taste of Italy to the neighborhood. Ranked among the world’s top pizzerias by 50 Top Pizza, Fradiavolo’s Miami outpost is the 33rd for the brand and its first outside of Italy.
Fradiavolo’s pizza is made with dough shipped directly from Italy, offering a traditional Neapolitan experience. “We spent years perfecting our dough in Italy, and now we’re bringing that same recipe to Miami,” said Dan C. Lopes Cardozo, managing partner of Fradiavolo Wynwood. “Our customers will taste the same pizza here that they’d find in our locations across Italy.”
The restaurant offers three distinct types of dough: a classic Neapolitan-style dough, a multigrain version made with wholemeal flour and mixed grains, and a unique carbon dough infused with vegetable charcoal, available exclusively in Miami. Each batch is made fresh in Italy using mineral-rich water and Italian flour, free from additives. The restaurant also sources ingredients directly from Southern Italy, including tomatoes and cheeses certified by the Slow Food Association.
Fradiavolo’s menu features a mix of traditional and contemporary Neapolitan pizzas, such as the classic Margherita with Lattari Mountains fiordilatte cheese, the truffle-inspired Paradise Truffle topped with porcini mushrooms and truffle carpaccio, and the Mortazza Tua with pistachio mortadella and burrata. Starters include bruschetta variations and a tagliere board with an assortment of cured meats. For salads, they’re served on house-made focaccia, and for dessert, the restaurant offers tiramisu and a Nutella pizza.
The Wynwood location’s interior reflects the playful spirit of the restaurant. It’s decorated with vintage furniture imported from Italy, along with shelves of books, records, and decorative bikes. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with a nod to the brand’s tagline: “Eat Pizza. Make Love.” A selection of Italian craft beers and Fradiavolo’s private label wines complete the dining experience.
