A pizza restaurant on Riverdale Road in Atlanta has fallen short on its latest health inspection, receiving a score of 65 and an unsatisfactory grade. Prime Pizza was cited for several violations, including the improper storage of chemicals alongside clean dishes, and food items stored in a box that had previously held raw chicken. Additionally, pizza boxes and cups were found on unclean surfaces.
Owner Kazi Rahman told Atlanta News First that the restaurant has been given seven to ten days to correct the issues and will be reinspected. However, when asked why the failing report was not displayed, Rahman asked reporters to leave, saying, “So please, I don’t want to do any of this.”
In contrast, Soul Food Café in Decatur received high marks on its surprise inspection this week. The restaurant earned an “A” grade and a score of 96.
Meanwhile, Murphy’s Restaurant, located in Atlanta’s Virginia Highland neighborhood, earned a perfect score of 100 on its health inspection. The restaurant, which has been serving American comfort food for 44 years, was also awarded the Golden Spatula for its exceptional standards.
Murphy’s, known for its scratch kitchen and use of local ingredients, features a menu that includes beet salad, sweet potato soup, flatbread, garlic BBQ shrimp, and brisket over mashed potatoes with greens. For dessert, the restaurant is praised for its standout offerings. Guests can also enjoy cocktails at the bar or shop from a selection of wines available for purchase in the restaurant’s wine shop.
