A new pizza restaurant, Luca Pizza, is set to open in West Pittston in January 2025, bringing a familiar name to the area.
Angelo Recchia, who previously owned Angelo’s Pizza at Viewmont Mall since 2015, is excited to open a new spot closer to home. He plans to open Luca Pizza at the former B3Q Smokehouse location on Wyoming Avenue.
“I’ve always wanted to be part of the community and open a local spot,” Recchia said.
Before running his own restaurant, Recchia worked at Dino’s Pizza in the Wyoming Valley Mall, where his father was also involved in the pizza business. Now, Recchia is stepping into the challenge of running a stand-alone restaurant, outside of the mall setting.
“I’m so used to working in malls. My dad was always in a mall,” Recchia said.
At Luca Pizza, customers can expect to find a variety of offerings, including pizza, pan pizza, sandwiches, salads, wings, and weekly specials.
The restaurant is named after Recchia’s son, Luca, as a tribute to his family’s strong ties to the pizza business.
“Everything I learned goes to my dad,” Recchia added.
Luca Pizza will open on January 13, 2025, at 200 Wyoming Avenue in West Pittston.
