Maria’s Pizza, a local staple in Oregon for over 40 years, is set to continue its legacy under new ownership.
After closing in 2019, the pizzeria reopened in 2022, offering only carryout service. Now, the previous owner is passing the torch to the new team after three years of operation.
Despite the change in ownership, the new owners plan to maintain the pizzeria’s original recipes and traditions. Florime Biseri, co-owner of Maria’s Pizza, shared the community’s strong desire to keep the restaurant open. “Everyone was asking for it, so we tried the pizza and loved it,” Biseri said.
Biseri, who has been overseeing operations for the past few weeks, hopes to gradually restore Maria’s Pizza to its full-service model. “Pastas, salads, sandwiches, and eventually dine-in,” she explained. “We’re going to get there slowly.”
While the transition has been emotional, Biseri credited the community’s support for making the process smoother. “We’re super excited but also nervous,” she said. “But with the community being so welcoming, it’s easing the stress.”
