Despite being 2,000 miles away from Manhattan, New York’s famous pizza has found its way to Colorado.

In the past 25 years, New York-style pizza, known for its crispy yet chewy crust and foldable slices, has spread to cities across the U.S., including Denver and Boulder, according to The New York Times.

One standout is Audrey Jane’s Pizza Garage in Boulder, which received praise from the NYT for serving a “great slice” of classic New York pizza.

Roberta’s, a popular Brooklyn pizzeria, has also made its mark in Denver with a new location at the Urban Cowboy Public House.

Manhattan’s influence continues to grow in Denver. The PZA, a new addition to Denver’s pizza scene, is located in the Art District on Santa Fe. This pizzeria blends East Coast charm with Italian elegance. Previously, The PZA operated out of a rented kitchen at the Tight End but recently opened its own small brick-and-mortar location focused on takeout and delivery. Owner and chef Jake Rothy explained, “The way I do the dough is a little more old-world, like Neapolitan—but the execution, the vibe, is definitely East Coast.”

There are several other places across the state to enjoy a slice of New York-style pizza. Popular spots include Redeemer, SliceWorks, and Fat Sully’s in Denver, as well as Rosalee’s in Longmont, Original Pizza in Broomfield, and Big Bill’s in Centennial.
