Boss’ Pizza and Chicken raised nearly $3,500 during a fundraiser last week to support Scott Burt, head coach of the Rush, in his fight against brain cancer.
Andrew Heinle, the restaurant’s owner, expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming community response. He shared with KOTA Territory News that nearly every staff member was involved, and despite their efforts, the lines at the restaurant stretched out the door.
Approximately 70% of the funds raised came from food sales, while 30% were from direct donations.
“I was hoping for a large turnout, and we got it,” Heinle said. “It was a great night. Our staff was really impressed, and it was fantastic having the Rush team there helping out. I’m humbled by the community’s support and the way everyone has come together for Coach Burt.”
Heinle and the Rush are currently coordinating a date to present the check to Coach Burt.
