While New York City and Chicago have long been considered pizza hotspots, a new study reveals that Denver, Colorado, now stands as the best city for pizza in the U.S.
The comprehensive research, conducted by Clever Real Estate, evaluated 50 major U.S. metros based on eight key factors, including pizza prices, restaurant availability, customer ratings, and a unique “pizza passion” score.
Denver emerged at the top of the rankings, surpassing other cities in multiple categories. The study showed that the Mile High City excels in both quality and affordability. It boasts the second-highest Yelp review average, with pizzas receiving 4.05 stars on average, and earned a pizza passion score of 82 out of 100. This score reflects how frequently locals search for pizza-related terms online.
One downside for New York City: It was named the city with the most expensive pizzas. A large pepperoni pizza there can cost nearly $34.
In contrast, Denver’s pizzas are affordable. A large cheese pizza in the city averages just $16.79, ranking it as the 12th cheapest of the cities surveyed.
