A Domino’s delivery driver, Tamara Noriega, 48, was involved in a crash early Sunday morning when her car struck the window of a pizzeria in Hialeah. The incident occurred at a Domino’s location at 5874 W 20 Avenue just before the restaurant was set to open at 10 a.m.

Christopher Penas, a colleague of Noriega, was at the pizzeria preparing to open the store. “On Sundays, she always opens the pizzeria with me,” Penas said. “When I saw a car approaching, I knew it was her.”

As Noriega attempted to park her car in front of the store, she mistakenly hit the accelerator instead of the brake, causing her vehicle to crash through the front window. The impact shattered glass and severely damaged the store’s entrance.

Fortunately, the pizzeria had not yet opened for business, and the only person inside at the time was Penas. Noriega sustained an injury to her hand and was transported to a nearby hospital. She was visibly shaken and crying following the crash. Her car was later towed away from the scene.
