KFC has launched its new dining concept, Saucy, with its first location opening in Orlando, Florida on December 23. The restaurant promises a unique experience, focusing on boneless chicken tenders paired with a variety of complementary sauces.
The interior of Saucy is brightly designed, featuring neon hues of pink and orange, setting a vibrant tone for the space. Unlike KFC’s traditional menu, Saucy offers a specialized selection of 11 sauces that range from sweet and spicy to savory and smoky. Customers can choose sauces individually or opt for a “flight” of them, with additional limited-time options periodically featured on the menu.
Christophe Poirier, KFC’s Chief New Concept Officer, explained in a press release, “With Saucy, we’ve taken KFC’s famous Original Recipe® and amplified it with a brand-new concept that lets consumers play with flavor.” He encouraged diners to experiment with their meals by mixing sauces and sides to create their perfect combination.
In addition to the main dishes, the menu will feature side orders like crinkle-cut fries, Hawaiian rolls, and coleslaw. For dessert, guests can indulge in chocolate mousse cake and key lime cake. The drink menu includes 11 beverage options, a playful reference to the 11 herbs and spices in KFC’s Original Recipe®.
While Saucy is currently a one-location venture, the brand hinted at future expansion, though no details were provided on additional openings. Saucy joins a growing trend of restaurant spinoffs, following in the footsteps of concepts like IHOP’s Flip’d, which closed after a few years, and McDonald’s CosMc’s, which is still testing in Illinois and Texas.
As Saucy takes its first step in the competitive restaurant industry, it offers a fresh approach to enjoying KFC’s famous chicken, with a focus on customizable flavor profiles and a fun dining experience.
