Pizza Hut UK has teamed up with electric moped rental network Otto Scooter in a bid to reduce its carbon footprint and enhance the sustainability of its delivery operations in London.

Otto Scooter, known for its focus on various delivery sectors including pizza restaurants, grocery companies, last-mile delivery specialists, and independent couriers working for platforms like Uber Eats and Deliveroo, has begun supplying its Italian-made electric mopeds to Pizza Hut UK franchisees. The new partnership aims to make deliveries more eco-friendly by cutting carbon emissions, reducing noise pollution, and lowering operational costs.

Our e-mopeds are already transforming their operations, helping to create a more sustainable future while boosting brand visibility.” The company also highlighted the importance of offering food delivery businesses greater control over logistics, with a focus on efficiency and long-term savings.

2025 RTIH Innovation Awards to Highlight Green Retail

The 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards will place a significant emphasis on green retail, as the event celebrates global technological innovation in a rapidly evolving omnichannel world.

Opening for entries in March, the awards will recognize cutting-edge tech solutions across various industries. This year’s event, held at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place in London, was marked by a drinks reception, a three-course meal, and an awards ceremony hosted by comedian Lucy Porter.

Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor of RTIH, reflected on the event’s growth: “The event is now in its sixth year, and what a journey it has been. From its online-only origins during the Covid outbreak to its growth into a major event, we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”

Thompson congratulated the finalists, noting that the competition had been fierce, with many submissions failing to make it to the final stage. “This evening is a celebration of innovations in checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, on-demand delivery, next-generation loyalty programs, inclusive retail, and green technology,” he said. “Most importantly, we’re showcasing how companies are taking innovative tech and using it to drive efficiency and profitability.”

The awards also recognized 2024 winners, and Thompson expressed gratitude to sponsors, the judging panel, comedian Lucy Porter, and all attendees for their participation.
