In a spirited display of support for the Dallas Mavericks during the NBA Finals, a Texas-based pizza restaurant has made a temporary name change from “Boston’s Pizza” to “Dallas Pizza.”
The decision to rebrand swiftly followed the realization that rooting for anything associated with Boston in Dallas, especially during such a competitive sporting event, might not be well-received.
Jason Battle, the general manager of the sports bar and restaurant, shared that the corporate decision to embrace the name change was met with enthusiasm. “Corporate definitely came up with the plan immediately and we’re just like, this is an easy sell,” he explained.
The temporary renaming of “Boston’s Pizza” to “Dallas Pizza” underscores the restaurant’s commitment to rallying behind their hometown team, the Dallas Mavericks, as they compete in the NBA Finals.
