For the third consecutive year, Bricco Coal Fired Pizza in Westmont, South Jersey, has been honored as one of the country’s top pizzerias by the prestigious 50 Top Pizza, an Italian guide known for its comprehensive rankings of pizzerias across the United States.
Bricco earned the 29th spot on the 2023 list, maintaining its place among the nation’s elite pizzerias. This recognition follows its previous rankings of 28th in 2022 and 45th in 2021. The consistency in high rankings underscores the exceptional quality and popularity of Bricco’s offerings.
Bricco was one of only two New Jersey pizzerias to make the list, sharing the spotlight with Razza Pizza Artigianale in Jersey City, which was ranked 13th this year, down from its second-place finish the previous year. The competition at the top was fierce, with Una Pizza Napoletana in New York City securing the No. 1 spot for the third year in a row. Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco and Pizzeria Beddia in Philadelphia rounded out the top three.
The awards ceremony took place on June 25 in New York City, celebrating the best in pizza craftsmanship. Bricco’s consistent ranking is a testament to the dedication and skill of chef and owner Vincenzo Barone. In 2022, a travel site recognized Barone’s pizza as among the best in the world, adding to the pizzeria’s growing list of accolades.
Bricco recently expanded by opening a new location in Cherry Hill, further solidifying its presence in South Jersey. The pizzeria continues to garner acclaim for its delicious coal-fired pizzas, which have become a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
The 50 Top Pizza guide employs anonymous “pizza inspectors” who visit pizzerias to evaluate various aspects, including the quality of the pizza, service, and overall hospitality. Bricco’s repeated success in these rankings highlights its commitment to maintaining high standards in all areas.
Bricco Coal Fired Pizza’s recognition as one of the top pizzerias in the United States is a significant achievement for the South Jersey eatery.
