A new pizza restaurant is set to open in Manchester’s city centre this autumn, offering an exciting treat for pizza lovers. Detroit Slims, located on Oxford Road in the Circle Square development, will be giving away 10,000 free pizzas to celebrate its grand opening.
Detroit Slims specializes in Detroit-style pizzas, known for their rectangular shape and thick, crispy crust. The restaurant will serve 10-inch pizzas, freshly baked to order, with prices starting from £5. The menu includes options like the Cheese Burger Slim, BBQ Meat Feast, and the signature Pepperoni Crown.
The restaurant is the latest venture from the team behind popular Manchester venues Ramona, Diecast, and The Firehouse. Dan Mullen, director at Detroit Slims, expressed excitement about bringing the new concept to Manchester. “We’ve been working on Detroit Slims for a while now, and we’re thrilled to finally introduce it to our home city. Our goal is to eventually bring Detroit-style pizza to the entire UK.”
To claim one of the 10,000 free pizzas, customers simply need to sign up for the Detroit Slims newsletter. Those who register will receive a unique code to redeem their free pizza during the first few weeks of the restaurant’s opening.
In addition to serving walk-in customers, Detroit Slims will offer delivery through Deliveroo. The restaurant, which will create over 25 jobs, includes a 30-seat dining area for those who want to eat in.
Executive chef Will Taplin emphasized the quality of the food, stating, “All Detroit Slims pizzas will be made from scratch using proper ingredients. We’re offering high-quality fast food that not only tastes great but leaves you feeling good. There’s nothing like Detroit Slims in the UK, and we’re excited to bring authentic American hospitality to Manchester.”
The team also has plans to open another Detroit Slims location in Greater Manchester by the end of the year.
