Austin, Texas, has secured its place as home to the best pizza in the state, thanks to a pizzeria so popular that it occupies two adjacent buildings on South Congress Avenue.
Though I’m no pizza expert and typically don’t review foods designed to be eaten with one hand—leaving the other free for your drink of choice—this pizzeria stands out. And much like my high school approach to Algebra 2, I’m more than happy to share the fruits of someone else’s research.
The Best Pizzeria in Texas
According to a comprehensive analysis by Enjoy Travel, the top pizza in the vast expanse of Texas is served at Home Slice and More Home Slice in Austin. The pizzeria was rated on seven different criteria, beating out 24 other competitors across the state.
These findings were released within the last year. However, it’s worth noting that Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports wasn’t as impressed during his “One Bite Score” review back in March 2016. Given that nearly eight years have passed, and the pizza might have evolved, perhaps an invitation for a return visit is already in the mail.
