A new Domino’s Pizza takeaway has received approval from Laois County Council, bringing good news for pizza lovers in Offaly.

Marcus McLoughlin submitted a planning application last July for the new takeaway, which will be located at Unit 2, Link Road, Portarlington. The council’s decision will enable the establishment of a pizza bakery with a home delivery service. The takeaway is expected to create between 15 and 20 jobs, including positions for delivery drivers.

The proposed 92-square-meter, single-story takeaway will be situated next to Supervalu, at the rear of a service station. According to the planning documents, the restaurant aims to operate from 12 PM to 1 AM. The location is in a town center area with a mix of businesses that have similar hours.

The council’s planner highlighted that the takeaway’s distance from residential properties means it is unlikely to disrupt nearby amenities. The planning application was approved with 16 conditions to ensure compliance with local regulations.
