In its continued effort to grow and strengthen operations, Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream has hired Aaron Huber as the company’s new Controller. This move aligns with Happy Joe’s strategic plan to expand its brand and franchise opportunities across the U.S.
Aaron Huber, an Iowa native from Eldridge, brings a strong personal connection to Happy Joe’s, having grown up near one of its locations. His lifelong affinity for the brand began in childhood and remained with him through the years. Huber attended North Scott High School, where he excelled in sports, earning all-state honors in basketball, baseball, and football. He later pursued a degree in accounting at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where he also served as captain of the basketball team.
Professionally, Huber brings extensive experience in accounting and finance within the restaurant and hospitality sectors. He has held leadership roles with well-known brands such as Bennigan’s, Hilton, and Marriott, and most recently served as director of accounting at The Hungry Hobo. His deep knowledge of financial management in the restaurant industry will be key to supporting Happy Joe’s as the brand continues to grow.
In his new role, Huber will manage all aspects of the company’s financial performance, including budgeting, reporting, and cash management. He will work closely with other departments to analyze data and make recommendations to improve profitability. Huber will also oversee the accounting team and ensure compliance with industry regulations, supporting the company’s ongoing operational excellence.
“I’m excited to join the Happy Joe’s team and contribute to the brand’s continued growth,” said Huber. “This is a special opportunity for me, both professionally and personally, as I’ve always had a strong connection to Happy Joe’s. I look forward to helping the company achieve even greater success.”
Tom Sacco, Chief Happiness Officer, CEO, and President of Happy Joe’s, emphasized the importance of Huber’s addition to the leadership team. “Aaron’s expertise in financial management and leadership will help drive our franchise development efforts and reinforce the brand’s stability. His role will be critical in propelling Happy Joe’s forward as we build on our 50-year legacy and expand further into new markets.”
Happy Joe’s is known for its specialty pizzas, including the Lollapalooza pepperoni pizza, stacked with over 200 pepperonis, and the iconic Taco Pizza, featuring layers of ground beef, refried beans, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and taco sauce. The restaurant is a family favorite, offering a unique dining experience where kids can play games, win prizes, and enjoy ice cream, creating memories that last a lifetime for generations of customers.
