Casey’s General Stores has introduced a new, limited-time menu item, the Pickle Wrap Pizza, just in time for National Pickle Day on Nov. 14. Available at select Casey’s locations in Minnesota and northern Iowa through Dec. 3, the pizza is priced at $17.99 for a large.
Inspired by a popular Midwest appetizer, the Pickle Wrap Pizza is built on Casey’s signature made-from-scratch dough and topped with Philadelphia whipped cream cheese, chopped ham, smoked bacon, real mozzarella and cheddar cheese, and thick-cut pickles. Customers can choose either Casey’s original or thin crust for this unique offering.
According to Casey’s, the Pickle Wrap Pizza brings a “tangy, crunchy flavor” with a modern twist, tapping into a bold trend among pizza enthusiasts. “We are always looking for ways to serve guests flavors they crave, test trending ingredients, and explore fresh ideas with each slice,” said Tom Brennan, Casey’s chief merchandising officer. “This inventive Pickle Wrap Pizza is a perfect example of our approach to creating distinct and satisfying options for our customers.”
The concept for the Pickle Wrap Pizza was developed by district manager and Minnesota native Andrew Cairl, who created it as part of Casey’s annual pizza competition, where it became a finalist. Cairl explained that the pizza offers a creative spin on the classic Midwest ham-and-pickle roll-up, popular at tailgates and potlucks. “The dill pickle stands out on this pizza, and while it’s a hit with pickle lovers, it also tempts others to try a surprising new taste.”
Based in Ankeny, Iowa, Casey’s General Stores operates more than 2,600 locations in the Midwest under the Casey’s and GoodStop brands, as well as in Texas under the Lone Star Food Stores brand. Recognized as the fifth-largest pizza chain in the U.S. and third-largest convenience store chain by location count, Casey’s is expanding its reach with creative menu additions like the Pickle Wrap Pizza. Recently, CEO and President Darren Rebelez was honored as CSP’s 2024 Retail Leader of the Year, a reflection of the company’s continued growth and impact in the retail and convenience sectors.
