A fire erupted this morning at Trigno Pizza, located on Sama-Savli Road in Vadodara. The blaze quickly spread to Avni Women’s Hospital, located on the second floor of the building.
Firefighters arrived at the scene quickly and controlled the fire using water cannons. Most of the restaurant’s furniture was destroyed, but fortunately, no customers were present as it was early in the morning.
The fire started on the first floor of the Siddharth Annexe 4 building, where Trigno Pizza is located, before spreading to the second-floor hospital. Police and fire teams responded immediately to the scene. Due to the heat, the building’s windows shattered. Thankfully, there have been no reports of casualties. Firefighters have since brought the blaze under control and are now cooling the area.
According to reports, the staff at Trigno Pizza tried to use the restaurant’s fire safety equipment to put out the flames, but it failed to activate, causing the fire to escalate. Chief Fire Officer Nikunj Azad confirmed that the restaurant had previously received safety notices. The power to the restaurant has been disconnected, and further action is being taken.
A local resident said that when the fire spread to the hospital, doctors quickly moved a woman, who was about to give birth, to safety.
