Pizza Hut’s annual Global Pizza Hut Championships has underscored the brand’s dedication to quality, creativity, and innovation. The competition, which celebrates the skill and passion of Pizza Hut team members worldwide, offers an opportunity for participants to showcase their pizza-making expertise.

This year, the event was held in Dubai for the first time in four years. After intense competition among teams from 12 countries, the team from Pizza Hut Bahrain was crowned the 2024 Global Pizza Hut Champion.

In addition to the pizza-making contest, the Championships featured the “Make Table Magic” innovation contest, where teams demonstrated their creativity by developing new pizza concepts. This year’s winning innovation was the Dakgalbi Pizza from Korea, which combined spicy marinated chicken, fresh vegetables, and a variety of cheeses in a customizable, shareable pizza experience.

The event also included a “Winning Recipe” cheer competition, where participants celebrated culture and creativity through energetic performances.

The Global Pizza Hut Championships is open to teams from the 110 countries where the brand operates. Teams competed regionally over the summer before finalists were selected to represent their countries at the event. This year’s finalists came from Bahrain, Canada, Egypt, Portugal, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Each team, consisting of a Restaurant General Manager and a team member, competed in various challenges, demonstrating speed, precision, and expert cutting techniques. The first-place winners received the Global Pizza Hut Champion title, a “Global Gold Pan” trophy, and a cash prize of $3,000.

Shannon Garcia, President of Global Franchise Markets & Global Operations at Pizza Hut, praised the dedication of the teams. “Though our brand operates in diverse regions with different tastes, what unites us is our commitment to serving craveable pizza, no matter where we are in the world,” Garcia said.

She concluded, “The Championships celebrate the passion our teams have for bringing people together through the joy of pizza and recognize the incredible skill and hard work of our employees.”
