In 2025, the North Loop’s largest food hall will relaunch as Graze Food Hall by Travail, bringing fresh energy and innovative dining experiences to the area.
Chef-owners Mike Brown, Bob Gerken, and James Winberg of the Travail Collective are spearheading the transformation, promising a stronger neighborhood connection, engaging events, pop-ups, and exciting new restaurant stands from notable culinary names.
Among the new offerings, Kate and Gustavo Romero of Oro will debut Tixtli by Nixta. This masa-focused concept will revisit their roots with a taco-forward menu inspired by their early takeout stand days.
The creators of Wrecktangle Pizza, known for their thick-crust Detroit-style pies, will introduce Wrad, a thin-crust, tavern-style pizza venture. Staying true to their quirky branding, the new project adds a fresh twist to their portfolio.
Travail itself will unveil Graze on the Greens, a fast-casual salad concept featuring a spritz bar helmed by Robb Jones, the James Beard-nominated beverage director behind Meteor.
Graze Provisions + Libations, located at 520 N. 4th St., first opened in 2019. The two-level food hall boasts a rooftop deck and a lower-level green space within walking distance of Target Field.
Originally, Travail was invited to consult on revitalizing the space. However, as co-owner Mike Brown explained, the team saw an opportunity to expand their vision beyond advice. “We were helping Graze redefine itself,” Brown said. “But as we got deeper into the process, we realized we could bring it fully to life by taking over.”
With this bold move, Travail is set to infuse the food hall with its signature creativity and community-driven approach, offering North Loop residents and visitors an exciting new chapter for Graze.
