A Long Island pizzeria has gone viral for creating a Thanksgiving pizza that combines traditional holiday favorites on a pie. Pino Barbieri, owner of Pino’s Pizza in Deer Park, shared that the pizza has gained massive attention, reaching over 10 million viewers across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
The pizza was created by accident after Barbieri found himself with extra turkey. He combined it with seasonal ingredients to create a unique dish. “We start with cheese, then spread some roasted turkey gravy, apple, cornbread and sausage stuffing, and top it off with fresh carved turkey,” Barbieri explained. The pizza is finished with Salpino’s famous cranberry sauce.
Since the pizza went viral, people from as far as New York City, Atlantic City, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the Hamptons have traveled to Deer Park to try it. One customer described it as “everything you want in a pizza pie,” adding that they would be getting another for Thanksgiving Day.
Pino’s Pizza will be open on Thanksgiving Eve from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. but will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. The Thanksgiving pizza will be available through the weekend, with Barbieri considering extending it on the menu if demand remains high.
