Cibo, the Italian restaurant chain owned by award-winning chef Margarita Forés, has earned recognition as one of the best artisan pizza chains globally for 2024. The restaurant placed 44th in the 50 Top World Artisan Pizza Chains 2024 list, announced at the recent World Pizza Summit during the European Pizza Show in London.
Cibo expressed its gratitude to its team and loyal customers on social media, saying, “A big grazie to our team and loyal patrons for loving what we do—bringing you the REAL.MODERN.ITALIAN. experience that earned us this honor.”
The 50 Top Pizza list highlighted Cibo’s reputation since its founding 27 years ago. Known for offering “good Italian food at reasonable prices,” the restaurant has built a loyal following, especially in Metro Manila’s major malls. The list also praised Cibo’s extensive menu, which caters to all times of the day, from pastries for breakfast to hearty evening meals. The menu includes sandwiches, pasta dishes, salads, soups, and pizzas with “light, well-leavened, and perfectly cooked” dough.
The review also noted the high quality of Cibo’s Italian ingredients and the friendly service, adding that the restaurant’s prices are average for the city but offer much better quality compared to many competitors.
Other notable pizza chains in the top five include Spain’s Grosso Napoletano, Italy’s Antica Pizzeria di Michele, Big Mama Group, Bráz Pizzaria, and Luigia.
Cibo was founded by Forés on August 22, 2007. The first branch opened in the walkway between Glorietta 3 and Landmark in Makati. Today, Cibo operates over 25 branches across the Philippines.
