Grotto Pizza in Harvey’s Lake is once again hosting its annual “Parade of Trees,” marking its 29th year. The event features dozens of Christmas trees, each decorated by a local business to support a charity.
This year, 28 trees are on display in the restaurant’s dining room. Customers are invited to vote for their favorite tree by making a donation. The donations go toward supporting various charities.
“We feature many local charities that don’t always get national attention. Along with the well-known charities, you’ll find some that are more community-focused, and that’s one of the things that makes this event special,” said Tony DeCosmo, Director of Marketing at Grotto Pizza.
The trees that receive the most donations will also get additional support from the Joseph and Erma Paglianite Charitable Foundation. This foundation was created in honor of Grotto Pizza’s original owners and continues to give back to the community where the company was founded.
“Our restaurant has always been a community hub. It’s not just a place to eat; it’s a place where people come together. Many of our employees started their careers here, so it feels like one big family. This event gives us a chance to give back, especially during the holiday season,” DeCosmo added.
Since its inception, the Parade of Trees has raised over $500,000 for local causes. The event will remain on display at Grotto Pizza in Harvey’s Lake through New Year’s Eve.
