A customer was injured after discovering glass fragments in a dish of spaghetti at a popular pizza chain, raising concerns about food safety. The incident occurred on November 28, sparking alarm among diners.
The consumer, a member of a food safety group, shared their experience online after accidentally chewing on glass pieces in their meal. Initially mistaking the shards for crispy bacon, the sharp fragments caused cuts to the mouth and hand when removed. Unfortunately, some glass was swallowed, raising concerns about potential internal injuries.
The customer reported finding the glass in a plate of spaghetti from a well-known pizza chain commonly found in shopping malls. The fragments were described as small, about the size of a grain of rice. Despite the unpleasant experience, the customer did not intend to take further action but stressed the need for better hygiene and stricter measures to prevent foreign objects in food.
“This is very dangerous if it causes internal injuries,” the victim said.
In response, the restaurant took responsibility, offering to waive the cost of the meal and covering any medical expenses if necessary. This gesture was meant to reassure both the affected customer and others about the establishment’s commitment to safety, according to KhaoSod.
Although incidents involving foreign objects in food are rare, they can have serious consequences for both consumers and businesses. Such incidents can cause harm and damage a brand’s reputation, leading to a loss of trust. This case highlights the importance of thorough quality control in food preparation and service.
Food safety experts advise consumers to report any irregularities to ensure prompt corrective action. Restaurants are also encouraged to implement rigorous checks to prevent similar incidents.
