This Christmas, PizzaExpress is offering a unique holiday experience: a delicious meal, a couple of Peronis, and a private performance by chart-topping artist Rag’n’Bone Man. The restaurant chain is spreading festive cheer with a series of free pop-up performances by famous stars of music and pantomime.
To kick off its new Press for Showtime series, Rag’n’Bone Man will perform an intimate gig at one of PizzaExpress’s London venues on December 4. The British singer, known for hits like “Human” and “All You Ever Wanted,” will take the stage at PizzaExpress Live. This marks the beginning of a two-week celebration featuring live entertainment across the brand’s restaurants.
This concert series continues a long-standing tradition at PizzaExpress, which began in 1976. Over the years, artists such as Amy Winehouse, Van Morrison, Jamie Cullum, and Gregory Porter have performed at the chain’s London venues, including Dean Street and Pizza on the Park. The chain’s founder, Peter Boizot, was a jazz enthusiast and wanted to bring music into his restaurants, a legacy that continues today with 1,500 live shows each year across multiple locations.
Research by YouGov, commissioned by PizzaExpress, reveals that many families are cutting back on festive outings this year, with 56% planning to reduce their holiday activities. In light of this, the Rag’n’Bone Man concert will be offered via a free ticket ballot, available until December 1.
Paula Mackenzie, CEO of PizzaExpress, said, “PizzaExpress is the home of family celebrations, so we wanted to create something truly special to spread some holiday cheer while dining with us. The Press for Showtime series is all about bringing people together with great food and live entertainment during the festive season, and we’re thrilled to have Rag’n’Bone Man help us kick it off in style.”
The Press for Showtime series will continue throughout December, bringing a variety of live performances, including Christmas choirs and pantomime characters, to PizzaExpress restaurants across the UK.
