A manager at a Providence pizza parlor was injured in an assault with a hammer on Saturday evening in the Elmwood section of the city.
Details of the Incident
Around 9 PM, police responded to a report of an assault at Brother’s Famous Pizza on 950 Broad Street. Upon arrival, officers found a man in his 40s who identified himself as the restaurant manager. He had visible bruises on his face.
The victim told police that the incident began when he confronted a woman who had allegedly struck his parked car. The situation escalated into a verbal argument, and a man then entered the pizzeria holding a hammer. A physical altercation followed, during which the victim was struck in the face with the hammer. The weapon was recovered at the scene.
Police detained both the male and female suspects. Charges are currently pending.
