Yellow Moto Pizzeria, a popular Italian spot on Valencia Street, will serve its final pizza on December 7. The casual eatery, which has been part of the Mission District for nearly three years, announced its closure on Instagram, citing “significant headwinds” over the past few years as the main reason for shutting down.
Valencia Street has seen a series of restaurant closures recently, and Yellow Moto’s departure adds to the list. Other local favorites, including Pi Bar, West of Pecos, and Third Culture Bakery, have also closed their doors.
Owner David White, who was involved in the founding of Flour + Water Pizzeria and is a member of the Valencia Corridor Merchants Association, shared that business had dropped by 30% since the summer of 2022. Despite efforts to keep the restaurant running, the challenges proved too much for the pizzeria to continue.
