OG Zaza, a popular New Haven-style pizzeria, is expanding with a new location inside King Coil Spirits in St. Paul. The distillery, which opened last year in the refurbished Vandalia Tower, announced the addition of OG Zaza last week. This marks a shift in the food offerings at both King Coil Spirits and nearby Lake Monster Brewing, which are owned by the same team and have previously served Roman-style pizzas.
The new OG Zaza location will be the pizzeria’s third, joining its food hall at Rosedale Center and its 60-seat restaurant in Shakopee. The pizzeria is led by seasoned Twin Cities chef Josh Hedquist, known for winning “Guy’s Grocery Games” and competing on several Food Network shows. Hedquist has expressed his goal of creating a “guilt-free,” affordable dining option for families, using simple, clean ingredients. Pizzas will feature scratch-made dough with unbleached flour and a sauce made from just crushed tomatoes and olive oil. The grand opening date for the new location will be announced soon.
