The team behind the popular Mount Hawthorn pizza spot Il Falco has opened a new Italian restaurant in Bassendean. The venue, named Voi Voi, is located in the former TAB building on Parker Street, opposite the Bassendean Hotel.
Voi Voi, which means “you you” in Italian, will begin serving pizzas, antipasti, and spritzes by the weekend.
“We chose this location because it’s a part of Bassendean that needs more love,” said Segalina, one of the owners. “We’re excited to be in a great area, especially with the improvements made to the nearby hotel, and hope to bring more energy and character to the neighborhood.”
In addition to pizzas, Voi Voi will offer a variety of dishes, including wagyu bresaola, tomato salad, vodka rigatoni, and local crab linguine. Desserts will include tiramisu and vanilla panna cotta, and there will be kids’ pizzas and macaroni with “Nonna’s sugo.”
The restaurant will feature a selection of wines by the glass and bottle, tap beers, gin and tonics, and cocktails, including three spritzes for $18 each. Voi Voi will also offer BYO on Wednesday nights.
“The BYO option is an important part of what we offer,” Segalina added. “It keeps things affordable and enhances the social atmosphere.”
Voi Voi aims to be a family-friendly spot, with space for kids and a welcoming atmosphere for pets. “We make sure dogs are treated well with fresh water, shade, and plenty of affection in our alfresco area,” Segalina said.
The restaurant, located at 2 Parker Street, Bassendean, will be open Wednesday to Saturday from 5 pm to 10 pm, and Sundays from noon to 9 pm.
