Amber and Jolyon Iles, known for their passion for food and coffee, have opened their new venture, The Beech Tree coffee shop, on Albion Hill in Oswestry. The couple celebrated the opening with the support of a £5,000 “Breathing New Life into Empty Properties Grant” from Oswestry Town Council.
The Iles family is already a familiar name in Oswestry. In 2012, after a trip to Naples where they discovered a love for Neapolitan pizza, Amber and Jolyon started their pizza-making journey in the town. They first gained attention with their mobile pizza van, which received rave reviews, before opening Amber’s Pizza Co restaurant in Beatrice Street in 2021.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the support from the community,” said Amber. “The grant from the town council has been a huge help, and we are really grateful.”
Oswestry Mayor Cllr Mike Isherwood expressed his excitement about the new coffee shop, calling it “a wonderful addition to Oswestry.” He also praised the couple for reviving the building in the heart of town, wishing them the best in their new family-run business.
The Beech Tree coffee shop is open Tuesday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
