La Vie, a French plant-based brand, has teamed up with pizza giant Papa John’s to launch their first-ever Hawaiian Vegan Pizza. This new creation, just in time for Veganuary 2025, brings a plant-based twist to one of the UK’s most debated pizza styles.
The Hawaiian Vegan Pizza features La Vie’s plant-based ham, a tomato base, juicy pineapple, and dairy-free cheese. The pizza aims to spark a conversation about plant-based options, offering a delicious alternative to traditional meat-based pizzas. La Vie’s mission is to provide indulgent, meat-free choices that are better for the planet and animals.
Starting January 2, the Hawaiian Vegan Pizza will be available in Papa John’s stores nationwide. The pizza is designed to appeal to vegans, vegetarians, flexitarians, and anyone trying plant-based foods during Veganuary. This collaboration hopes to unite both loyal Hawaiian pizza fans and those curious about plant-based alternatives, proving that vegan options can be just as satisfying.
Nicolas Schweitzer, co-founder and CEO of La Vie, said, “We wanted to make sure this was more than just a vegan pizza. We’re excited that Papa John’s shared our vision. It’s about taste, innovation, and making vegan choices accessible to everyone. Whether you love or hate pineapple on pizza, this is your chance to try the ultimate plant-based version.”
Rebecca Carroll, marketing director at Papa John’s, added, “At Papa John’s, we’re always looking to push the boundaries of pizza. We’re proud to offer something for everyone, and we’re excited to introduce a plant-based pizza that’s even more controversial than the classic Hawaiian. This partnership combines popular flavors with plant-based alternatives, giving a bold new way to enjoy traditional toppings without the meat.”
La Vie’s innovative Plant-Based Ham is a key feature of the pizza. Developed over five years, it offers the taste and texture of traditional ham without any animal products. The plant-based ham is available in major UK retailers like Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Waitrose, and Ocado. With 19.5g of protein per 100g and five times less saturated fat than pork ham, it provides a healthier alternative to its meat counterpart. La Vie is committed to sustainability, animal welfare, and creating delicious plant-based foods for a more ethical future.
The collaboration between La Vie and Papa John’s represents both brands’ commitment to high-quality ingredients, culinary innovation, and offering sustainable food options for all.
