Boss’ Pizza & Chicken, in partnership with the Rapid City Rush, is organizing a fundraiser to support Scott Burt as he fights a brain tumor.
On Wednesday, January 15th, 100% of the proceeds from the Boss’ Pizza & Chicken Tuscany Square location (325 Omaha St. Suite #6, Rapid City, SD 57701) will go directly to Burt and his family. The restaurant will be open for pickup and delivery from 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.
“We’ve been loyal season ticket holders and fans of the Rush for years,” said Andrew Heinle, owner of Boss’ Pizza & Chicken in Rapid City, alongside his wife, Marty. “We took over Boss’ in May. With all that Scott Burt has done for the team and the city, we felt this was the right thing to do as he faces this challenging time. We’re excited to support him and team up with the Rush for this event.”
In addition to the fundraising efforts, select Rush players will be at the restaurant helping serve customers.
Burt, the Head Coach and General Manager of the Rush, took medical leave on December 6th. After undergoing surgery that day in Rapid City, he began treatment for a high-grade glioma at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
The Rapid City Rush will return home to play against the Tulsa Oilers on December 31, January 3, and January 4. Fans are invited to join the Rush on New Year’s Eve for Area 51 Night, presented by Veteran Roofing. Be sure to grab your tickets and enjoy the action.
