A new Wi-Fi-connected pizza oven is gaining attention for its ability to bake a 12-inch pizza in just two minutes. The $599 Current Backyard Model P is designed for both indoor and outdoor use, offering customizable cooking times based on the type of pizza being made. It also includes Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities, allowing users to monitor and control the oven remotely.
The Model P can reach a maximum temperature of 850 degrees Fahrenheit, making it suitable for Neapolitan-style pizzas. It comes with a 12-inch cordierite cooking stone and has specific settings for broiling, Neapolitan, New York, thin crust, and frozen pizzas. Thanks to its Wi-Fi connection, users can step away and still adjust and monitor the oven through its app.
One standout feature of the Model P is its proprietary algorithm, which maintains even heat distribution throughout the oven. This eliminates the need to turn pizzas during cooking, unlike some competitor ovens such as Ooni, which typically recommend rotating pizzas. Additionally, the oven’s app includes a “Pizza Build Calculator” that determines the ideal cooking time and temperature based on the thickness of the dough and the amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings.
“The Model P Smart Pizza Oven isn’t just about making pizza — it’s about eliminating limitations,” said Tom Penner, CEO of Current Backyard. “Whether you’re in an apartment or have a backyard kitchen, this oven adapts to your lifestyle, offering convenience, performance, and flavor.”
