Wiseguy Pizza and Matchbox, two pizza brands owned by Thompson Restaurants in Washington, D.C., are helping customers save on meals this week.
As part of Thompson Restaurants’ Hi-Five promotion, customers can enjoy 20% off their entire meal at both pizzerias and other restaurants owned by the company. The discount will be available until January 12.
For dine-in service, customers can present a promotional code—MBHIGHFIVE for Matchbox and WGHIGHFIVE for Wiseguy Pizza—at the restaurant. Online orders will require the code at checkout.
The Hi-Five promotion, according to a company statement, is designed to offer value to loyal customers while attracting new ones at the start of 2025.
Thompson Restaurants, originally known as Thompson Hospitality, is a Black-owned company. It made headlines in October 2024 for its response to a controversy involving rival &pizza. The latter had faced backlash over a new menu item, the Marion Berry Knots, which mocked the late D.C. mayor’s alleged drug abuse. The controversy led to calls for a boycott of &pizza, and Thompson Restaurants responded by offering a donation from Wiseguy Pizza sales to the Marion Barry Jr. Legacy Foundation through November 2024.
In addition to Wiseguy Pizza and Matchbox, Thompson Restaurants operates several other dining concepts, including Big Buns, Hen Quarter, CUT132, Milk & Honey, The Delegate, Locals Tacos, Makers Union, Ralph’s ATR, The Ridley, The Rub, Social House, and Velocity Wings.
