Outta Sight Pizza, known for its New York-style slices, is expanding with a new location in San Francisco’s Chinatown. The pizzeria, famous for its baguette-like crust and a blend of traditional and creative toppings, will open its second outpost on Wednesday at 643 Clay Street, near the Transamerica Pyramid.
The first Outta Sight Pizza shop debuted in 2022 in the Tenderloin, an area known for a wide variety of international cuisines but lacking in pizza options. With the new Chinatown location, owners Eric Ehler and Peter Dorrance are bringing their popular pizza to a neighborhood that also has limited pizza choices.
Ehler and Dorrance first began serving pizzas in 2020, starting as a pop-up at Fig & Thistle on Gough Street. Their unique approach to pizza quickly gained a following across San Francisco, leading to the opening of their first brick-and-mortar shop. The pair met while working at Mister Jiu’s, one of the city’s most celebrated restaurants, also located in Chinatown.
Outta Sight Pizza is known for its classic slices like pepperoni topped with fresh basil and shaved cheese. The menu also features inventive creations, such as a pizza with marinara, vodka sauce, pesto, burrata cheese, and ikura (salmon roe).
