The Shekulo Tov organization has launched the first SOLO Pizza Pie branch in Petah Tikva, providing a unique social opportunity for at-risk youth.

Shekulo Tov, which typically supports individuals with disabilities in entering the workforce, is now extending its focus to at-risk youth. The new initiative is a kosher pizza chain offering personal pizzas served in rectangular boxes. The pizzas are made from thick dough, using Italian durum wheat and a slow fermentation process. SOLO Pizza Pie was created in collaboration with the Ministry of Welfare and Social Security’s Meitar Employment Program and the Welfare Department of Petah Tikva Municipality.

The pizzeria employs teens aged 15–18 who are either school dropouts or at risk of dropping out. These teens work in various roles, including in the kitchen and as cashiers and sales staff. They receive training in essential life skills such as managing a bank account, saving money, understanding a payslip, writing resumes, and preparing for job interviews. Mentoring is also provided to help the teens successfully integrate into the workforce.

Next to the pizzeria, Shekulo Tov operates a social youth club for the employees. The space is designed to be a welcoming environment for the teens during their free time. It offers three daily meals, a spacious yard, board games, a snooker table, PlayStation, and a quiet study area. Professional staff members manage the club and provide support.

SOLO Pizza Pie, which blends speed, flavor, and the creativity of personal pizzas, also offers a variety of menu items. Chef Ran Michaeli designed the menu, which includes oven-baked pastas, fresh salads, arancini, gnocchi, and desserts.

Rami Greenberg, Mayor of Petah Tikva, added, “This exceptional initiative will help teens develop skills relevant to the workforce. Alongside the pizzeria, we have created a space for them to study and enjoy their free time in a supportive environment. The Petah Tikva Municipality is committed to supporting the city’s youth and investing in their future.”
