Astoria Bar Kè Grill, a new Greek restaurant, has opened its doors in South Yarra, offering traditional Greek dishes with a modern twist.
Located in the former Shadowboxer space on Toorak Road, the restaurant is led by Nik Pouloupatis, a hospitality expert with 35 years of experience at top Melbourne restaurants like Grossi Florentino, Attica, and Vue de Monde.
The venue’s design remains largely the same, with new furniture and a fresh coat of paint. The front terrace continues to be a popular spot for drinks or long lunches.
Astoria’s menu highlights Greek classics such as house-made spanakopita, zucchini fritters with tzatziki, pan-seared saganaki, and prawns with oven-baked tomatoes and feta.
Main dishes ideal for sharing include seared snapper with asparagus and mussels, lamb stew with kritharaki, and vegetarian moussaka.
The drinks menu features a mix of Greek and Australian wines, beers, as well as a variety of cocktails and mocktails.
