MOTO Pizza Progresses Toward Bellingham Opening

MOTO Pizza, the Seattle-based pizzeria known for its neon pink pizza boxes and inventive toppings, is making strides toward its Bellingham debut. The restaurant has filed for a permit with the city for its new location at 4373 Meridian St. The permit, filed on Nov. 25, is still pending approval as of Nov. 29. MOTO CEO Gerard Figurelli confirmed the Bellingham location in an email to The Bellingham Herald in December 2023, with plans for the restaurant to open in April 2024.

Little Dog Coffee Co. to Close Permanently

Little Dog Coffee Co., the popular espresso stand in Bellingham, announced its permanent closure in a heartfelt social media post on Dec. 2. The post cited a mix of economic challenges and a focus on family as key factors behind the decision. The last day of operations will be Dec. 15, 2024, or until supplies run out. Little Dog Coffee has been serving customers at 2438 E Bakerview Road, Bellingham, for six years, and the owners expressed their gratitude for the community’s support throughout that time.

New Restaurant ‘Roe’ Opens in Downtown Bellingham

A new addition to downtown Bellingham, Roe, opened on Nov. 6, bringing a blend of American dishes with Spanish, Italian, and French influences to the neighborhood. The restaurant’s menu features a mix of gourmet and casual offerings, including caviar, Dungeness crab, focaccia, burgers, halibut, and ricotta gnocchi, all served family-style. Roe, located at 207 Unity St. Suite 101, is open Wednesday through Sunday, offering craft cocktails and a curated wine selection. Hours are 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, and 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Trader Joe’s Bellingham Location Progresses Toward Opening

The new Trader Joe’s at 4255 Meridian St., located in the former Bed Bath & Beyond space, is moving forward but has no set opening date yet. Trader Joe’s public relations manager Nakia Rohde confirmed the opening will take place sometime in 2024. Bellingham residents will have two Trader Joe’s locations to choose from, as the store at 2410 James St. will remain open.
