Morgantown authorities have confirmed that all nine individuals involved in a violent altercation at a local pizza shop have been charged. As of now, court documents for two of the suspects, Rylan Rock and Eli Marva, have been made public.

Earlier reports (February 18) identified the two primary suspects in the incident as 18-year-old Rylan Rock of Clarksburg and 22-year-old Eli Marva of Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Both men face charges of malicious assault and conspiracy, as confirmed by the Morgantown Police Department.

The attack took place early on Sunday, February 9, at Casa D’Amici, a popular pizza shop on High Street, and left Zach Stevens, a West Liberty University student, severely injured. Police had previously appealed to the public for assistance in identifying the nine men believed to be involved in the assault. While all suspects have been identified, details about the charges against the remaining individuals have not been released.

Stevens sustained significant injuries during the attack, including a concussion, three staples to his head, and other injuries. According to court documents, Rock is accused of striking Stevens repeatedly in the head and back with a closed fist, and then kicking him in the head while he lay unconscious. Marva is alleged to have punched Stevens multiple times in the head and back, kicked him several times in the back, and thrown a wooden or metal table onto him while he was motionless on the ground.

During the altercation, Stevens’ diamond necklace was also stolen.

Neither Rock nor Marva was booked into jail, as bond was posted immediately after their arrests, meaning no mugshots have been released. However, court documents indicate that Rock is pictured in the bottom middle of the suspect photo, while Marva is shown second from the right in the bottom row.

Preliminary hearings for both suspects are scheduled for the morning of February 24. Rock’s hearing will take place at 11 a.m. with Magistrate Ronald Bane, followed by Marva’s at 10:15 a.m. with Magistrate Tonya Rogers.

In a separate interview with 5 News on Monday, Stevens and his family spoke about the harrowing moments leading up to the attack and their ongoing struggle to cope with the emotional and physical trauma.
