Cannabission Cannabis has submitted an application to rezone a unit at 5008 South Ridge Drive in Kelowna’s Upper Mission to establish a retail cannabis store. The company plans to utilize 1,260 square feet of space for the new outlet, which complies with local bylaws regarding proximity to other cannabis retailers, schools, and parks.
The application highlights Cannabission’s strong compliance history with the BC Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB). “Cannabission has had a perfect compliance record within the BC LCRB,” the application states, emphasizing the company’s commitment to operating as a responsible and safe retailer. The business currently employs 10 people.
Cannabission has been operating a retail store on Gordon Drive in Kelowna’s Lower Mission for six years. According to the company, there are currently no cannabis stores in the Upper Mission area, making the proposed location an ideal site to serve the local community. The building is zoned C1 and is located next to a Domino’s Pizza, with Cannabission’s existing store 4.5 kilometers to the north.
The application will be reviewed by city staff before being forwarded to Kelowna City Council for approval. If approved, Cannabission would still need to obtain a license from the provincial government to operate the store.
