Est Ovest Caffe and Aperitivo Bar in Adelaide has earned a prestigious spot on the 2025 50 Top Pizza list, securing its place as one of the best pizzerias in the Asia-Pacific region. Located on Angas Street in the CBD, the restaurant has been serving authentic Italian pizzas since 2018 and is now recognized globally, ranking 45th among the top 50 pizzas for the Asia-Pacific region.
The 50 Top Pizza guide, an esteemed international ranking based in Italy, celebrates the world’s best pizzerias. Est Ovest’s inclusion marks a significant achievement as it is the first South Australian restaurant to make the list.
In a social media post on Tuesday, Est Ovest expressed its pride, stating, “This means we’re not just a top pizza spot in SA or Australia, but among the best across two continents. How big is that?”
The restaurant further celebrated the accomplishment, adding, “You don’t have to travel far to taste a pizza that meets global standards. You’ll find it right here in Adelaide, at 111 Angas Street.”
Co-owner Fabio Di Verio shared his excitement but humbly refrained from adding too much beyond the social media announcement, allowing the recognition to speak for itself.
The menu at Est Ovest features a wide selection of traditional Italian pizzas crafted by Italian chefs, ranging from classic margherita and capricciosa to unique creations like the signature Est Ovest pizza. This special pie is topped with mushrooms, buffalo ricotta, Prosciutto di Parma aged for 20 months, and drizzled with truffle oil. The menu also boasts a variety of steaks, pastas, sides, and Neapolitan fried pizza balls.
Est Ovest’s inclusion in the 50 Top Pizza list further elevates South Australia’s culinary scene, with the restaurant joining a select group of top-tier pizzerias. The highest-ranked Australian restaurant on the list is SHOP225 in Melbourne, which secured the 5th spot. The top honor went to The Pizza Bar on 38th in Tokyo, owned by Rome native Daniele Cason. This pizzeria is known for preparing just two pizzas at a time, served in four portions to a limited number of guests.
