Breads Unlimited and Pizza is set to open a new location at 10303 Kensington Parkway in Kensington, right next to Dish & Dram and in the former space of The Growing Years Consignment Shop. This marks an exciting expansion for the popular bakery and pizzeria.
Founded in 1981 by Steven Raab and now under the ownership of former long-time employee Jose Roberto Molina, Breads Unlimited has been a well-known staple in Bethesda at 6914 Arlington Road. The bakery offers a wide variety of baked goods, including artisanal breads such as rye, sourdough, challah, and pumpernickel, along with a selection of rolls (bagels, pretzels, kaiser rolls), cookies (chocolate chunk, oatmeal raisin, turnovers, scones, brownies), and an array of sweets like cronuts, danishes, muffins, donuts, coffee cakes, pound cakes, and eclairs. Specialty items also include tea cookies, decorated cookies, and babka, complemented by a selection of coffee and tea.
In 2022, Breads Unlimited expanded with the addition of Edith’s Pizza at 6910 Arlington Road. Roberto Molina explained that the inspiration for the pizzeria came from his father’s homemade pizza recipe, which was perfected over the years. Originally made from scratch in their basement bakery with commercial kitchen equipment, the pizza quickly became a family tradition, beloved by neighbors and customers alike.
The new Kensington location will bring the same beloved bakery offerings and freshly made pizza to the local community, continuing the tradition of quality and family-oriented service.
