Cape Cod’s food scene is bustling this week with exciting updates, from new dining spots to delicious promotions. Here’s what’s happening:

New Pizza in Yarmouth Port: Cape Flats Pizza Longtime Cape Cod pizza entrepreneur Scott Lopes has launched Cape Flats Pizza in Yarmouth Port, bringing Roman-style thin-crust pies to the region. Lopes, who sold Stone L’Oven in Falmouth, has revamped his pizza offerings, cooking Roman-style pies in just four minutes using an Italian electric oven. The result? A perfect 14-inch pizza with a charred crust and no bubbles, reminiscent of New Haven-style pizza. Popular options include the Luau, featuring caramelized fresh pineapple and prosciutto, and other creative pies like The Riptide, with chicken, bacon jam, and arugula. Cape Flats also offers fresh Angus beef smash burgers and Snowy Owl coffee. The shop, which opened on February 11, is located at 559 Route 6A and offers both takeout and dine-in options, with seating for 35 inside and more outdoor seating in warmer months.

After closing her Rhode Island restaurant, Sly Fox Den, Too, Pocknett is exploring new opportunities on Cape Cod, including potential pop-ups or teaching Wampanoag cooking. She continues to work on opening a 200-seat restaurant in Preston, Connecticut, but remains an influential figure in the region’s culinary landscape. Pocknett, also a guest judge on Hell’s Kitchen and soon to appear on Somebody Feed Phil on Food Network, is widely celebrated for her Indigenous cuisine, including dishes like Indian fry bread and venison sausage.
