After weeks of fierce competition, the Delaware cheesesteak Munch Madness tournament has narrowed down the field to the Final 4, where the stakes are higher than the calories. What started with 32 contenders is now down to the last four, and readers can vote for their favorite cheesesteak to see who advances to the championship.

Round 4 Preview: The Road to the Final 4

Round 4 kicks off on Saturday, March 22, and the four remaining restaurants have battled through a tough bracket to make it this far. First up, Casapulla & Sons in Elsmere will face Ioannoni’s Specialty Sandwiches near New Castle. Casapulla made a strong run, upsetting the Claymont Steak Shop in the Sweet 16 and dominating Malin’s Deli in Newark in the Elite 8, with 1,306 votes to 831. Ioannoni’s, however, responded in kind, beating Goodfellas Steaks & Subs in Prices Corner with 1,397 votes to 760. While Ioannoni’s has a loyal following, Casapulla’s multiple locations in New Castle County and Rehoboth Beach may give it the edge, drawing votes from a larger customer base.

The other match-up pits Little Vinnie’s Pizza & Pasta in Wilmington against Nick’s Pizza Parlor & Bar in Brandywine Hundred. Little Vinnie’s secured a decisive win in the Elite 8, eliminating Two Cousins Pizzeria in Hockessin with 1,093 votes to 839. Nick’s Pizza had a tougher battle against Yatz’s Subs & Steaks in Wilmington, narrowly winning 1,065 votes to 967. Despite the close call, Nick’s Pizza has been generating buzz with its new location, which could be the key to their success in this round.
