The owner of Fellini’s Pizzeria in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, is speaking out after a break-in that took place in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 5. The break-in not only caused damage to the front entrance but also resulted in the theft of some property, including a Pennsylvania Skills game. The owner, who expressed sadness and disbelief rather than anger, shared the news on Facebook, detailing the emotional and financial toll of the incident.
“Who does this to a small local business? Like…why??” the post began, with the owner lamenting the unnecessary costs incurred. “What it takes for us to clean up, replace [damaged property], and lose business for the morning or the day costs so much more than anything anyone can take out of this building against our will,” the post continued. The owner further explained how the incident impacted not only the business but also the staff, many of whom are teenagers or adults who rely on their scheduled hours for their livelihoods.
“My heart is broken,” the post concluded, “Shame on you.” The owner also made it clear that the cost of the damages and the loss of business was far greater than the value of the items stolen.
The Jefferson Hills Police Department (JHPD) is currently investigating the break-in. The restaurant and nearby businesses are equipped with security cameras, and the pizzeria owner confirmed that they have turned over the footage to the authorities. The hope is that the video footage will help identify the culprit, who allegedly destroyed several pieces of property, including the machine used for games such as Gem Master, Wildebeest Wild, and Pirates.
Fellini’s Pizzeria, a popular establishment specializing in pizza, hoagies, calzones, and wings, operates six locations across Pennsylvania. Despite this setback, the owner remains focused on recovering and supporting their dedicated team during this difficult time.
