Hot Daisy Pizza, a beloved slice shop in the heart of Roosevelt Row, is set to close its doors this month. The pizzeria, run by renowned pastry chef Tammie Coe, announced on social media that April 30 will mark its final day of operation.
“After four incredible years serving the Roosevelt Row community, we’re closing this chapter with a huge thank you to everyone who made our time here so special,” Coe and her team shared in a heartfelt post.
Opened in February 2021, Hot Daisy replaced Coe’s longtime bakery, Tammie Coe Cakes, and quickly became a go-to spot for pizza lovers. The pizzeria offered both classic slices, like Margherita and pepperoni, as well as creative creations like the Corny Baby-Elote Pie, which features mozzarella, cotija cheese, roasted corn, cilantro, and chipotle oil. Phoenix New Times described the Elote Pie as “a texture party that brings a zing of herby, zesty, crunchy, salty and sweet.”
The spot became especially popular during the bustling First Friday art walk, known for its laid-back vibe and delicious pizzas. In addition to pizza, the shop also sold baked goods like cookies and cupcakes made by Coe’s team.
While Hot Daisy is closing, Coe’s other bakery locations, including one in Scottsdale for pre-order pickup and another at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (Terminal 4), will remain open.
The announcement has sparked an outpouring of love from fans, with many sharing their sadness about the closure. One Instagram user commented, “Another blow to the Roosevelt Row culinary choices. Tammie Coe ooey gooey cupcakes best ever.” The local pizza influencer, Wizard of Za, also expressed his support: “Love me some Hot Daisy and Tammie & the crew! Excited for your future!”
Although the fate of the Roosevelt Row space is still uncertain, Coe’s post hinted that something new might be on the horizon, saying, “Don’t worry, we’re just hitting pause – stay tuned for exciting things ahead.”
For those hoping to savor their favorite slices one last time, there are still a few weeks left to grab a pie before Hot Daisy closes its doors for good.
