In a move that brings excitement to the New Britain Borough community, the Borough Council has approved the transfer of a liquor license to HG Coal Fired Pizza, the highly anticipated Italian restaurant set to open soon on East Butler Avenue. The liquor license, originally designated for HG Bucks County Bagels in Warminster, will be converted into a full-service restaurant license, which is a significant step for the restaurant’s expansion plans. The transfer will allow the new eatery to serve a broader selection of beverages beyond beer and wine, marking an important milestone in its preparations.
The new restaurant will take over the location previously occupied by Forlano’s Italian Restaurant, and renovations are already underway to transform the space into a full-service Italian family restaurant complete with a bar. The owner of the restaurant expressed confidence that the updates will significantly enhance the establishment’s ambiance and overall customer experience. “We’re going to make it look nice,” said the owner, adding that the focus is on creating a welcoming atmosphere for diners. With the renovations, the restaurant will see a major increase in seating capacity, expanding to more than 75 seats, up from the original 52.
In addition to the indoor seating expansion, HG Coal Fired Pizza plans to introduce a year-round patio area that will allow guests to dine outside during warmer months, further enhancing the dining experience. “Right now, the place is not big enough,” the owner said. “We only have 52 seats. The kitchen is big, but we need more dining space.”
The restaurant will specialize in coal-fired pizza, a popular style of pizza known for its crispy crust and smoky flavor, which is cooked in a traditional coal-fired oven. The opening is expected to take place within the next four to five months, promising a new dining destination for locals and visitors alike.
The family behind HG Coal Fired Pizza is no stranger to the restaurant business. They currently own and operate several successful Coal Fired Pizza locations across the region, including in Doylestown Borough, Warrington, Chesterbrook, and Oreland. Their experience in the industry and commitment to quality is expected to make the New Britain location a favorite among pizza lovers.
With the addition of the liquor license transfer and the renovations underway, HG Coal Fired Pizza is poised to be a significant addition to New Britain Borough’s dining scene. The upcoming restaurant will not only offer a great variety of pizzas but will also serve as a welcoming gathering spot for families, friends, and neighbors to enjoy delicious food and drinks together.
