Several top eateries in Edinburgh have earned nominations for the Deliveroo 2025 Restaurant Awards, marking them as contenders for both regional and UK-wide recognition. Among the nominated establishments are a diverse range of dining spots, from Japanese ramen shops to popular burger joints, all vying for the title of best in Scotland. Notably, two standout businesses from Edinburgh, Big Manny’s Pizza and Soul Vegan, will represent the city in the competition for the prestigious title of Independent Restaurant of the Year.
The Deliveroo Restaurant Awards feature 65 categories, including 50 regional cuisine-specific awards and the highly anticipated Independent UK Restaurant title. Customers across the UK will have the opportunity to influence the outcome by voting for their favorite local eateries. The five regional winners will advance to the final shortlist for the coveted Independent Restaurant of the Year award, which will be decided by an expert panel of judges, including Deliveroo’s CEO and founder Will Shu and renowned food critic Jimi Famurewa.
Tilly Ramsay, the celebrity guest for the 2025 awards, will join the panel to help determine the winners. Ramsay, who is also involved in supporting the Rising Star award for emerging culinary talent, expressed her excitement about the event. “I can’t wait to take my taste buds on a tour as I rate some of the most loved local eats from around the UK and Ireland,” said Ramsay. “The shortlist looks epic, and I’m thrilled to celebrate new and exceptional talent in the food industry alongside my co-judges.”
Voting for Edinburgh’s most beloved restaurants is open now, and locals can cast their votes for their favorite takeaways until May 9, 2025. Participants will also be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win £150 in Deliveroo credit. The winners of the Deliveroo 2025 Restaurant Awards will be revealed on May 28, 2025, via Deliveroo’s social media channels.
