In a recent analysis, The Washington Post examined 7.5 million Yelp reviews to identify the most highly praised regional pizzas in the country, aiming to determine which styles garnered the most critical acclaim. Using national data, the authors also investigated which pizza styles were most popular in each state.
Remarkably, two pizza establishments in Chester County received accolades for their Sicilian and Chicago-style pizzas. Gennaro’s Chicago Style Pizza, located in Pottstown, secured the second spot on the list. Chicago deep-dish pizza, characterized by its tall and thick crust with sauce placed atop the cheese, earned Gennaro’s recognition for its outstanding pies.
